Our mission is to develop paper-based packaging solutions that respond to the functional and technical requirements of our customers while taking into consideration material selection and packaging design.
Building on our experience in paper packaging and our knowledge of the fashion supply chain, we developed a new transparent paper bag, selected as a finalist at the Best Packaging Award 2024 by the Istituto Italiano Imballaggio.
Designed primarily for the fashion and textile industries, the transparent paper bag has been developed as a paper-based option for applications traditionally using plastic polybags. It is designed to perform the logistics and protection functions required of secondary packaging and can also be considered for other applications according to specific product and supply-chain requirements.
The design incorporates a peel-and-stick adhesive closure, allowing the bag to be opened and reclosed and therefore making repeated use possible where its condition and intended application allow. The integrated adhesive closure also avoids the need for additional adhesive tape.
Our R&D team selected Cristal™ Transparent by Ahlstrom for this application. The paper used for the bag is FSC® certified (FSC® C015302), providing information on the certified origin and chain of custody of the paper in accordance with the applicable FSC® certification requirements.
The bag can be printed using water-based inks, selected in line with the technical requirements of our printing processes.
Through the development of this solution, Fiorini International continues to explore paper-based packaging applications, focusing on functionality, material selection, design and end-of-life considerations.
